Getting blood drawn is rarely a fun activity, but Andrea Ezzell offers a more convenient and comfortable way to get the procedure done.
Ezzell comes to a clientâs home, draws their blood and sends it off to get analyzed by a lab, thus cutting out the need to visit a doctorâs office. Her business Quick Draw is especially popular with seniors and disabled individuals.
âI get a quite a bit of elderly people, itâs so hard for them to get out sometimes, especially in the bad weather, and if itâs cold they just really donât want to do that just for a blood draw,â Ezzell said.
Other clients like the fact they can stay in the comfort of their own homes, especially clients who are nervous when it comes to needles.
âIâve had a few patients that really have a lot of anxiety about getting their blood drawn and I feel like when theyâre at home, theyâre a lot more comfortable and I try to chat them up a little bit and make them feel really comfortable and it works pretty well,â Ezzell said.
Ezzell works at Mosaic Life Care as a nurse full time and schedules her client appointments around her shifts. Often, she is able to accommodate patients and visit them as early as 6 a.m. or as late as 6 p.m.
âIâm always busy, busy, busy,â she said.
Ezzell charges $15 per visit while the blood analysis done by a lab is billed through the patientâs insurance company. She is able to take the blood sample to whatever lab the patient or doctorâs office prefers.
