The Woodward Senior Citizen Center and Providence Place are teaming up to bring seniors a Seasons of Life Seminar Saturday, Nov. 10, from 10 a.m. to noon.
The event will feature local experts discussing topics relative to senior citizens; Down-sizing, leaving a legacy/estate planning, and open enrollment insurance questions.
This will be the first of four Saturday seminars presented. Northwest Real Estate will sponsor lunch following the speakers.
According to Woodward Senior Citizen Center Director Kathryn Fanning, the event is open to anyone age 55 and above.
“Most people who are 55 and older have probably worked for several years and are looking forward to retirement or are retired,” Fanning said. “As we think about the prospect of living longer, millions of us are taking more responsibility for our own health and future. We are realizing that the choices we make each day are more important than an occasional visit to the doctor’s office.”
Fanning encourages seniors to consider joining the seminar to glean important information.
“Pre-planning makes a world of difference in how you deal with the issues of aging and retirement,” Fanning said. “As it is with most things, you can make decisions on what’s best for you or become dependent on others to make decisions for you.”
Attendees need to call 580-254-8566 to reserve a meal for the event. The next Seasons of Aging Seminar will be Feb. 9.
